Breaking The Chain Exhibition at The Dockyard

08 Jun 2017 - 03 Sep 2017

A temporary exhibition at The Historic Dockyard Chatham takes place form June to September telling the story of the Battle of Medway through Dutch and British contemporary art, literature, historic manuscripts and extraordinary objects, on loan from national and international museums.

The exhibition is part of a series of events planned to take place in 2017 commemorating the 350th anniversary of The Battle of Medway which took place in 1667.

The Breaking the Chain Exhibition vividly brings the Battle of Medway story to life through art drawn from collections at The Royal Museum Greenwich, Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Dutch National Maritime Museum, the Michiel de Ruyter Foundation and the British Library.

You can see the exhibition on a visit to the Historic Dockyard Chatham where you will also have the opportunity to step aboard three historic warships and learn about maritime history.

All tickets are valid for 12 months and are available for a reduced price in advance online.
