Fun days out for the family are all about a great shared experience that entertains adults as well as children.

Diggerland is the ultimate adventure park experience offering buckets of fun and over 15 different rides and drives to choose from.  It's the only place where you actually get a chance to have a go at real construction machinery and drive JCBs dumper trucks, mini and giantDiggerland Adventure Park diggers.

Sit in a bucket of a JCB and get lifted up 25 feet and spun around; test your manoeuvring skills with the JCB robot as you drive around obstacles; dig for treasure on the Burried Treasure mission or ride the Joyrider, Diggerland Dogdems and Mini Landrovers.

Step back in time and have fun at Dickens World.  'Speak when spoken to' in the Victorian classroom, watch the 4D show on the author's life experiences as he travels around the world and finish your trip on a dark boat ride by flying over the rooftops of London and down a sewer pipe.

At the Guildhall Museum in Rochester, follow a timeline through Medway's history and test your knowledge on a themed trail.  Visit the 19th century Hulk's Experience and witness the dreadful conditions endured by the prisoners moored on the River Medway - an inspiration to Dickens in the creation of Magwitch the escaped convict in Great Expectations.  The author's life, times and work can be eBuckmore Park International Karting Circuitxplored at the museum's Dickens Discovery Rooms.

To experience thrills at high speed with sharp bends, head for the 1200 metre Buckmore Park Kart Circuit whre Lewis Hamilton and many of Britain's Formula One drivers learned their trade.  Buckmore Park offers karting for ages four to 80 and if you want to introduce your children into the exciting sport of karting, then check out the arrive and drive sessions available on selected days during the school holidays.

Clamber aboard three historic warships, look through a submarine's periscope, twist a piece of rope to take home and have a go at fighting a battle in the Museum of the Royal Dockyard at The Historic Dockyard Chatham

Families can treat their children to a 'My Gallery Sticker Book', so the kids can explore the collections of world-class maritime models, arts and objects in the brilliant Smithery No.1 gallery and create their very own guide to the wonderful treasures on display.  Revisit during the summer school holidays on 'Pirate Play Days' and fun in the specially created 'Pirates Play Place' where you will find hands-on activities and adventure.

All-year round winter sports can be enjoyed at Chatham Ski and Snowboard Centre, where you can brush up your skiing and snowboard techniques and have a chance to jump in a Sno-tube on the cresta run.  If you fancy practising ice-skating skills and party on ice then head for the nearby Ice Bowl in Gillingham.

During the summer visit The Strand Leisure Park in Gillingham.  It is a great family outdoor attraction where you can play tennis, netball, crazy golf, ride around on the miniature railway and relax by the outdoor swimming pool with lazy river.
