A Star-Studded Opera Concert by Candlelight Premiers in Rochester Renowned works by Puccini, Verdi, and more, presented by London Concertante. London Concertante embarks for their first solo concert in Rochester to present A Night at the Opera by Candlelight on 24th October 2025 at Rochester Cathedral.
The concert will feature a selection of well-known opera arias and overtures by Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, and Mozart, performed by the acclaimed orchestra and three distinguished opera singers. Under the gentle glow of hundreds of flickering candles. The programme will include Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, Delibes’ Flower Duet, and Verdi’s La donna è mobile, alongside selected arias from Madame Butterfly, Turandot, Tosca, Carmen, and more.
Three magnificent voices: Claire Wild (Soprano) has performed with leading opera companies, including Opera North, Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, and the Royal Opera House. She has a strong background in contemporary music and has premiered works with the Psappha Ensemble and Royal Opera House. Contralto Rhonda Browne was the winner of the London Wagner Society’s Bayreuth Bursary and Audience Prize. Having performed with several companies, including English National Ballet, Nottingham Philharmonic, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Longborough Festival Opera, Zürich Chamber Orchestra and The Royal Opera. Tenor Dominick Felix has performed with companies including Garsington Opera, Pegasus Opera, and Wexford Festival Opera. His recent roles include Gamekeeper (Rusalka), Rodriguez (Don Quichotte), and Mime (Das Rheingold) for English National Opera. He has also performed contemporary works, including roles in Battistelli’s Wake and Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District with Birmingham Opera.
