Half Term Family Fun: Crimean War Dogs

Join in this half term as we commemorate the Crimean War, which began in October 1853. Eventually the Russian Empire lost to the alliance of Britain, France, Sardinia & the Ottoman Empire in February 1856.

Our very own mascot, Snob the Dog, was found on the battlefield so we’re learning about the role that dogs played. They’ve had a variety of roles including in intelligence and sentry, but also as scouts, ratters and of course mascot dogs. Join us this half term as we commemorate the Crimean War and create your own non-sew sock dog to use as a companion just like a soldier!

Activities run from 11am to 3pm each day & cost £2.50 in addition to standard admission prices. A £0.50 discount is available with Museum Friends’ membership or Snob the Dog loyalty card.
