Medway Print Festival

The sixth annual Medway Print Festival will take place throughout June.

The festival will be a combination of in-person exhibitions and workshops as well as online content. Activities on offer include linocuts, Gelli printing, Cyanotype (sun) prints, Collogrpah and screen printing. There will be lots of free how-to films online as well as a gallery of work by local printmakers.

Pattern & Beyond is an exhibition of work produced by 24 BA Fashion, Textiles and MA Printed Textiles for Fashion & Interiors courses at the University for the Creative Arts, Rochester.

The Last Dream of My Soul-The Dickens 150 Print Open Call: Entries to the much anticipated Dickens 150 Print Open Call. ‘The Last Dream of my Soul’ will bring together the beautiful and varied work of 50 printmakers from all over the UK created especially for the exhibition. The exhibition explores death in Dickens’ life and novels, and his long association with Medway, and includes 100 new prints and delves into the Victorian obsession with mourning etiquette with unseen Victorian funerary treasures loaned from the Guildhall Museum collection. The works on show include cover designs for a limited-edition re-issue of part one of The Mystery of Edwin Drood published to accompany the exhibition.
