Rochester Christmas Market 2021

Set in the historic and picturesque Rochester Castle gardens, overlooked by Rochester's 12th Century Norman Keep, market visitors can enjoy a selection of festive food and drink including mulled wine, hot chocolate with Baileys and roasted chestnuts as they browse stalls for unique gift ideas and unusual stocking fillers.

Wander the Bavarian food village or visit the funfair. There will also be live performers keeping you entertained.

There is even a guaranteed snowfall, all framed by Rochester’s fairy tale cathedral and castle.

Please note: In line with the latest government guidelines, you will now need to wear a face covering at all times when attending the Rochester Christmas Market, unless you are exempt.

Features of the market include:

  • Easy access to historic Rochester High Street with its eclectic mix of independent retailers, eateries and period architecture.
  • A step back in time to a Victorian Christmas to meet some of Dickens' heroes and villains (Dickensian Christmas festival 5 and 6 December).

 

The Christmas Market returns this year on: 

  • Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 November, from 10am to 6pm
  • Friday, 3 December from 12pm (noon) until 8pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 December, from 10am until 7pm
  • Friday, 10 December from 12pm (noon) until 8pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 December, from 10am until 6pm

Keeping you safe

Keeping our staff and visitors safe is paramount. Therefore we have ensured our events adhere to the current government advice, including regular enhanced cleaning and mask wearing where required.

In line with the latest government guidelines, you will now need to wear a face covering at all times when attending the Rochester Christmas Market, unless you are exempt.

Please also take notice of the following:

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the event and follow government guidelines
  • Wash your hands regularly - hand sanitiser stations will be available at this event.

Taking a lateral flow test before arriving and a few days after the event, will help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Medway Council's Public Health team will be handing out kits.
