Incredible science themed lightshow coming to Rochester Cathedral this Autumn
This Autumn Rochester Cathedral will be transformed by a stunning son-et-lumiere exploring and contemplating the contributions of science and human understanding of the physical world around us.
Science has been created by Luxmuralis. This will be the third time they have brought their hugely popular shows to Rochester Cathedral after Space Voyage in 2021 and Life in 2022.
The show will take place over 5 nights from the 3– 7 October. Tickets are available now through the Rochester Cathedral website.
Science explores Chemistry and Biology and interprets artistically the scale of molecules cells and DNA as well as exploring the history of science, the contributions of science to humanity, and offers a reflection upon famous scientists past and present.
Sound and light art is projected onto the architectural features of the Cathedral transforming and enveloping the space. Visitors will walk through the Cathedral and view individual light and sound art installations digitally and artistically created by artistic collaboration 'Luxmuralis' which highlight the architectural features of the space.
Viewers are immersed in the soundscapes they hear and walk through the light artworks that are all around them on an explorative journey through the sacred space.
Tickets for previous lightshows at Rochester Cathedral sold quickly with additional nights added last year after Space Voyage sold out in 2021.
Rochester Cathedral would like to thank ArcelorMittal Kent Wire for their support of Science.
Online ticket prices are £8 for adults, £4.50 for under 18’s and £22 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children). Under 3’s go free but must have a ticket. Advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
