Summer Family Fun: Army Sports at Royal Engineers Museum

This summer the 2020 Olympics takes place in Tokyo, Japan. At the same time the Royal Engineers Museum is celebrating the Army’s participation in sporting events throughout its 300 year history in a special exhibition. Join us each week of the summer holidays to create your own:

21st-24th July – Laurel Wreath Crown – Learn the history of the Olympics and make your own laurel wreath crown to wear with pride while watching the games.

28th– 31st July – Score Cards – Create score cards to use and tally up the final scores of your favourite games and declare a gold medal winner.

4th-7th Aug – Waving Flags –Decorate a fabric flag to support your favourite country and wave in support.

11th-14th– Medals – Decorate a wooden medal ready to present to your favourite medalist, family member or friend.

18th-21st – Team Bracelets– Support your favourite team by creating a fabric Snap-On bracelet.

25th-28th– T-Shirt Photo Frame – Paint wooden photo frames in the colours of your favourite sports strip, to display your own sporting photo in.

Activities run from 11am to 3pm each day & cost £2.50 in addition to standard admission prices. A £0.50 discount is available with Museum Friends’ membership or Snob the Dog loyalty card.
