Half term is just around the corner, and you know what that means? Time to have some fun! There are plenty of events that you can experience this February. From new exhibitions for the family, to the hidden gems scattered across Medway. If you need ideas for activities this half term, we’ve got you covered.

11th February- 12th February 2022
Kick off the half term fun with this spectacular festival hosted across Rochester. With countless exhibitions, performances and other surprises it is certainly going to be a night to remember. From the Castle grounds and Cathedral to Eastgate gardens there will be displays and performances in every direction you look.

From the historic castle to the literary works of Charles Dickens, there are a plethora of different and exciting family walking trails across Rochester’s most grand attractions. Whether you are helping Sir Galahad find and assemble his armour, to assisting Dickens pet Raven discover the mysterious characters of Dickens literary library, there are plenty of chances to explore these iconic local landmarks.

Dickens is synonymous with Medway as much as the Castle or Cathedral, his works are globally recognised, and his life is celebrated across the area. With this in mind, The Guildhall Museum is launching a brand-new permanent exhibition which details not just Dickens early years but his entire life. From his early years through to his extensive novel publications. If you are intrigued by this English literature giant this exhibition might just be the place to visit.

Historic Chatham Dockyard – Diving Deep: HMS Invincible 1744

Warships, Submarines and Destroyers, the Dockyard has an immense range of different historical ships which have defined our countries history. With their latest exhibition showcasing the rediscovery of the legendary ship HMS Invincible, a warship over 260 years old with the original mast being the best preserved from this period in the world. Witness history in front of you as if it had occurred only yesterday.
