Cohesion Plus, working in partnership with Ideas Test, will be delivering We are Medway: a lantern parade, as well as an outdoor community film installation.
Date and time: Friday, 11 February, 6pm
Location: Starting from Almon Place Car Park, along the high street, ending at Rochester Castle
More than 17 Medway schools have helped design and create lanterns themed around ‘Home, Belonging, Love and Respect’ with Xtina Lamb of Intra Arts and Chris Reed. After the parade the lanterns will be installed in the town centre for the rest of the event. So, come take a closer look. You may recognise some of the lanterns as buildings from around Rochester itself!
As part of the parade there will be live music from Bloco Fogo, 4x4 Kings of Dohl, Uzambezi Arts, Band Baja UK - brass, samba and fusion bands.
Outdoor film installation
Date and time: Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 February, 6-9pm
Location: St. Mary’s Meadow (opposite The Deaf Cat Coffee Shop)
A film installation will be projected against the wall of St Mary’s Meadow and will feature local schools, artists, faith and community partners as well as fantastic community made artwork.
